Here's a glimpse into how the process unfolds, from our initial contact to the installation of your fully restored clock.
Whether you contact me through a phone call, email, or filling in the contact form here on the website, it would be great if you can include as much information and photos as possible, and we'll schedule a convenient time for me to visit and assess the clock in person. During my visit I will closely examine the clock. We'll discuss its history, any issues it may have, and your restoration goals. This is also the perfect time to address any questions you may have regarding the restoration process. We will discuss the restoration plan, including the scope of work, estimated timescales, and costs involved. For larger or more complex projects, I may need additional time to carefully assess the clock's needs and provide a comprehensive proposal. This visit is free of charge within a 20 mile radius of Heathfield, and there are no obligations. Further afield, there will be a small charge.
Once we've agreed on the restoration plan, I'll transport the clock to my workshop. Using traditional methods I'll carefully disassemble the clock, clean each component, repair any damaged parts, and meticulously reassemble it to its former glory. If I discover unforeseen faults or damaged parts, I will not continue until we have had the time to fully discuss and agreed upon an action.
After the restoration work is complete, the clock undergoes a testing phase lasting at least a month. This ensures that every component is functioning correctly and that the clock keeps accurate time and is striking and/or chiming correctly.
Within a 20 mile radius of Heathfield, I offer a complimentary delivery and installation service to ensure that your newly restored clock is set up and running perfectly in your home. There will be a small fee outside this 20 mile area, which will be discussed upfront. All my restorations come with a two year warranty.
